I have received many emails about this site.
I wish to thank each and every one of you that did take the time
to drop me a line.

Marty, Thank you for the Stinson picture. The picture I have is not a Stinson, it's a much larger aircraft
however, it has the same paint scheme and the same logo and slogan. ( It' obviously from the same era.)
It's in a large frame in my office area and was a hand down from my predecessor. I would have to dismantle
the frame to inspect it for dates, names, etc.. Just now I am swamped at work and I'll have to post pone it
until some other time. Good Luck.
Note: Archie is the Aviation Fleet Manager for Pepsico.

You are a building fool, Marty, but you do have good taste... and lots of
guts. Those INWST kits leave a bit to be desired as far as I am concerned.
Still, what you got done thus far looks just great.
You are in luck as I do have the correct Pepsi logo. The numbers and
lettering, of course, are no problem either. The paint mask material I use
is just like Frisket paper but with an adhesive on the back. The adhesive
is about half the strength of our normal vinyl. This allows it to stick
down real well yet peel off without picking up previous paint. I usually
leave about an inch or so around the stencil so that you can mask around it.
The Pepsi bottle I think you will have to get painted... or, if you could
find a really good picture of it... you could have it blown up to the
correct size and using decal paper (hobby shop item) you can make you own
water transfer decals or... maybe have it printed on Mylar.
Good luck with the project! Remember we are on vacation until 1/4/99 so
lets get together next year and work it out.
Happy holidays to all!

hi marty,
don't know anything about the plane you speak of. i think what happened was
that pepsi had various contracts with as many as 14 different people around
the country even cuba we heard. so every plane that ever wrote one or more
pepsi's was THE PEPSI SKYWRITER. kinda like a couple ferry pilots we have had
in years past who we later heard were happy to tell people they were pepsi
skywriters, i guess because they had flown the plane. i will check and see if
i can come up with anything and let you know. have a happy holidays.

he may have been associated with andy stennis who owned the original skywriter
that we fly. he had the contract with pepsi during the 30's, 40's and 50's
and who pepsi bought the plane from in '73. he flew out of long island all
his life and i'm sure probably had other people flying for him. he passed
away a few years ago (flew into his 80's). his son greg runs the skytypers
out of long beach ca. andy invented and holds the patent for the skytyping
system. the above would explain the address of record. pepsi didn't own the
planes, just contracted with andy and others.

Note: there was some confusion here, Steve thought that
I inferred that the Stinson was a skywriter. I followed up on his lead
to the "SkyTypers"

Marty: My friend and I briefly met you last Sunday at the "Giant" meet.
We noticed your Reliant which we thought a work of art.
Having been in aviation all my life, I was excited to see a plane
I had seen as a boy. Your web page is also a work of art and I shall
access it now and again. Thank you for the pleasures. Ellis Katz, Encino.
ps...when you plan to fly next at Encino, let me know if possible.
